Elijah+ Stanley 
Elijah+ was born on October 7th, 1730 in St. Peters, New Kent, VA. Elijah+'s father was James+ Stanley and his mother was Catherine+ Hutchins. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Horton+ Stanley and Elizabeth+ Patten; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas+ Hutchins and Mary+ Holmes Watkins. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, James Jr., Caleb, Micajah, Strangeman, Mary, Martha and Agnes. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 55 on August 18th, 1786 in NC.General Notes

HISTORICAL HI-LITES: Elijah was only eight months older than Martha Washington. In 1730, the first Jewish congregation in America consecrated their synagogue.
