William Stanley 
William was born on June 11th, 1729 in Hanover Co., VA. William's father was James+ Stanley and his mother was Catherine+ Hutchins. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Horton+ Stanley and Elizabeth+ Patten; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas+ Hutchins and Mary+ Holmes Watkins. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Elijah+, James Jr., Caleb, Micajah, Strangeman, Mary, Martha and Agnes. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 78 on November 11th, 1807 in Guilford Co., NC.General Notes
