Sarah was born after 1800.  Sarah's father was Jesse Shipton and her mother is Julia Davis.  Her paternal grandfather is Peter Shipton and her paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Easton. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Francis, Joseph E., John, Jesse, William Riley, Dudley S., Mary Ann, Julia and Sylvania.  She is the third oldest of the ten children.
