Julia was born in 1804 in So. Carolina. Julia's father was Jesse Shipton and her mother is Julia Davis. Her paternal grandfather is Peter Shipton and her paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Easton. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Francis, Joseph E., John, Jesse, William Riley, Dudley S., Mary Ann, Sarah and Sylvania. She is the fourth oldest of the ten children.General Notes
