Mahala Pearl was born on December 18th, 1845 in Hutton Twp., Coles Co., IL. Mahala Pearl's father was James+ Rennels and her mother was Mary+ Connelly. Her paternal grandparents were John+ Rennels and Nancy+ Ewing; her maternal grandparents were Joel Jackson+ Connelly and Effie+ Pennington. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Henry Leatherman, Edmund, John Pennington+, William Riley, Joel Jackson, Rebecca Ann, Martha Jane and Sarah Elizabeth. She was the second youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 72 on January 22nd, 1918 in Charleston, Coles Co., IL.General Notes
