Joel Jackson was born on September 29th, 1851 in Hutton Twp., Coles Co., IL. Joel Jackson's father was James+ Rennels and his mother was Mary+ Connelly. His paternal grandparents were John+ Rennels and Nancy+ Ewing; his maternal grandparents were Joel Jackson+ Connelly and Effie+ Pennington. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Henry Leatherman, Edmund, John Pennington+, William Riley, Rebecca Ann, Martha Jane, Sarah Elizabeth and Mahala Pearl. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 85 on December 28th, 1936 in Charleston, Coles co., IL.General Notes
