Grace was born on March 13th, 1875 in Kirksville, Adair Co., MO. Grace's father was John Noah Mikels and her mother was Missouri Edwards. Her paternal grandparents were Hugh Mikels and Charity Ann Scholl; her maternal grandparents were John Edwards and Mary Williams. She had six brothers and seven sisters, named William Albert, Barnum B., Charles Edward, George Washington, John Noah, Jesse Boone, Sarah Jane, Eliza Ellen, Dora Bell, Cornelia H., Elizabeth, Mary Alice and Anna M.. She was the fourth youngest of the fourteen children. She died at the age of 79 on February 1st, 1955 in Kirksville, Adair Co., MO.General Notes
