Rachel was born on October 28th, 1757 in Rowan Co., NC. Rachel's father was Abraham Cook and her mother was Phebe Mills. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Cook and Mary+ Underwood; her maternal grandparents were John+ Mills and Sarah+ Beals. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Isaac, John, Abraham Jr., Jacob, Nathan, Moses, Mary, Phebe, Sarah and Ruth. She is the oldest of the eleven children.General Notes
