Siegfried was born about 0922 in Luxembourg. Siegfried's father was Count Palatine Richwin de Verdun of Aachen, Luzembourg and his mother was Princess Kunigunde of the West Franks. His paternal grandparents are Sigebert de Verdun and Princess Kunigunde of Provence; his maternal grandparents were King Louis Eliganius ("the Stammerer") II of France and Adelheid von Argengau. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Otto, Gozelon, Friedrich, Sigfrid, Luitgard and Luitgard. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Christian and Luitgard. He died on August 15th, 0998. He was buried in St. Maximin, Trier.General Notes
