Henry was born in 1066 in Dijon, France.  Henry's father was Duke Henry I of Burgundy and his mother was Sibyllean of Barcelona.  His paternal grandparents were Prince Robert Capet I and Helie de-Semur-en-Brionnais; his maternal grandfather was Marquis Berenger Ramon I of Barcelona and his maternal grandmother is Guisla de Ampurias of Lluca. He had a brother and a sister, named Eudes and Baeatrix.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-brother named Eudes Borel.  He died at the age of 46 on November 1st, 1112 in Astorga, Spain.

‌Henry and Teresa were married in a religious ceremony in 1093.  They had a son and two daughters, named "the Conqueror", Urraca Henriquez and Teresa Henrique.
