James Wesley Marbut 
James Wesley was born on November 7th, 1872 in Pulaski, Giles Co., Tennessee.1 James Wesley's father was Phillip Henry Marbut and his mother was Martha Ann Bassham. His maternal grandparents were Levi Sampson Bassham and Sarah Smith. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Harry, Debe William, John Nellie Blye, Sarah Elizabeth and Mary Amby. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 74 on August 10th, 1947 in Covington, Hill Co., Texas.1 General Notes
