Martha Ann was born on April 15th, 1853 in Limestone Co., Alabama.1 Martha Ann's father was Levi Sampson Bassham and her mother was Sarah Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Basham and Pheebee Pinnicuff. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph C., John W., James William, Briant Smith, Mary J. and Phebe J.. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 75 on December 11th, 1928 in Covington, Hill Co., Texas.1 General Notes
