John Nellie Blye was born on June 30th, 1886 in Near Pulaski, Giles Co., Tennessee.1 John Nellie Blye's father was Phillip Henry Marbut and his mother was Martha Ann Bassham. His maternal grandparents were Levi Sampson Bassham and Sarah Smith. He had three brothers and two sisters, named James Wesley, Harry, Debe William, Sarah Elizabeth and Mary Amby. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 70 on November 25th, 1956 in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas.1 General Notes
