Susan E. was born in 1859.¹ Susan E.'s father was Sampson Gilbert Meadows and her mother was Mary Ellen Skeens. Her paternal grandparents were JORDAN Meadows and Susannah Payne. She had three brothers and a sister, named Andrew J., William Lewis, John L. and Sarah E.. She was the third oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named James, Phillip H., Emma E., Mary B. and Alwilda.¹
