Jacob Hicks 
Jacob was born about 1670 in Flushing, NY.1 Jacob's father was Thomas Hicks and his mother was Mary Butler. His paternal grandparents were John Hicks and Herodotus Long; his maternal grandparents were Richard Butler and Elizabeth Biglow. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, John, Mary, Phebe, Sarah and Elizabeth. He had eleven half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Isaac, Benjamin, Benjamin, William, William, Charles, Stephen, Stephen, John, Thomas, Jacob Butler, Charity, Charity and Mary. In the will of Thomas Hicks, eldest son of the original Thomas, he is called "my brother Jacob" and appointed overseer, then eventually executor. He is listed 2nd in order of the living sons in his father's will.

Jacob and Hannah had 10 children. I have a newspaper clipping about an old family cemetery for this line virtually disappearing. --In the name of God, Amen. I, JACOB HICKS, of Rockaway, in the town of Hempstead, in Queens County, being now in perfect health. I leave to my wife Hannah L100, and my riding chair and horse that commonly draws the same, and all the goods she brought with her when married, Also L6 worth of household provisions. I leave to my two grand daughters, Mary Williams and Elizabeth Williams, the riding chair and horse after my wife's decease, and a silver tankard, but if they die, then to my two grand sons, Richard and Jacob Williams. I leave to my daughter Sarah, wife of Jacob Hoyt, of Duchess County, six silver spoons. To my daughter Hannah, wife of Thomas Hallett, of Newtown, my silver tankard. To my son, Stephen Hicks, œ30. "I leave to my wife my Tea kettle and all my Tea tackling." All the rest of my personal estate I leave to my daughters, Sarah Hoyt, Hannah Hallett, and to my grand daughters above named. I make my wife and my three sons, Thomas, Jacob, and John, executors. Dated June 10, 1751. Witnesses, John Wiggens, Isaac Bloom, Benjamin Hinchman. Proved, December 24, 1755. Thomas and John Hicks being known Quakers.
