Jacob Hicks 
Jacob was born on June 14th, 1708.1 Jacob's father was Jacob Hicks and his mother was Hannah Carpenter. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Hicks and Mary Butler; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Carpenter and Hannah Carpenter. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Stephen, Thomas, John, Benjamin, Joseph I., Sarah, Elizabeth and Hannah. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 60 on March 6th, 1769 in Hempstead, NY.1 General Notes

-"On the 29 day of October, 1764, I, JACOB HICKS, of Hempstead, in Queens County, do make this my last Will." I leave to my wife and to my son, Charles Hicks, the use of all my lands and meadows, so long as my wife remains my widow, and then to my son Charles, And he is to pay to my son James œ350, in eleven payments; He is also to pay to my daughter, Elizabeth Johns, œ50. I leave to my son Charles a negro boy, "Will"; To my daughter, Hannah Seaman, œ20; To my daughters, Abigail and Mary Hicks, œ200 and 8 cows. I leave the use of all the rest to my wife and my son Charles. If my wife see cause to marry, I give her œ100 and my best bed and furniture. I leave to my son Charles the two best horses and my waggons, etc. The rest of my movables to my wife and my three daughters. I make my brother, John Hicks, and my son-in-law, David Seaman, executors. Witnesses, Joseph Prior, Stephen Hicks*, Patrick Mott. Proved, March 25, 1769, before Henry Dawson, Surrogate.

Could Mary have died and he married 2nd a Carman ?? (Never names his wife in his will) See 1759 will of Thomas Carman (NY Wills 1760-1766 Ancestry.com):
-"I, THOMAS CARMAN, of Hempstead, in Queens County, being this 7 day of December, 1759, very ancient in years, but my understanding through the favour of Allmighty God, such that I am capable of making this my last will and Testament." All debts to be paid before any division is made. I leave to my son Thomas and my two daughters Mary and Sarah the use, rents and profits of all my houses and lands during their natural life, and after their decease, then to my daughters, Hannah, Ruth, and Phebe. I leave all my live stock to my son Thomas and my daughter Sarah. I make my son-in-law, Jacob Hicks, and my cousin, John Smith, of Herricks, executors.
