George Sanford was born on February 8th, 1868 in Coosa Co., AL.1 George Sanford's father was Asa Melton Waldrip and his mother was Martha Thomas Sears. His paternal grandparents were William Waldrip and Margaret Flowers; his maternal grandparents were John A. Sears and Tabitha Jane Buckner. He had six brothers and four sisters, named John William, James Robert, Joseph Guy, Asa Franklin, Edward Stewart, Smith Graham, Margaret Tabitha, Ann Marvin, Harriet McCary and Effie C.. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 65 on October 19th, 1933 in Elmore, AL. He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Tallassee, Elmore Co., AL.1 1 -
