Perry D. Rushing 
Perry D. was born on September 29th, 1879 in AL.1 Perry D.'s father was Mathew M. (Mack) Rushing and his mother was Sarah Jane Amerson. His paternal grandparents were William Cain Rushing and Mary Ann Rushing; his maternal grandparents were Wiley Bradford Amason and Eliza M. Smart. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Joseph Thomas, Thomas Jefferson, John MacDonald, William Henry, Mathew B., Newton, Theophilus, David, Elizabeth Jane and Martha. He was the youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 18 on November 7th, 1897 in Coffee Co., AL. He was buried in Zoar Church Cemetery, Coffee Co., AL..1 1 General Notes

Perry shot and killed himself at the age of eighteen. At that time
Minnie was pregnant with their only child.
Forgot to mention. I found at one time a transcription of an article from
a newspaper that talked about Perry Rushing's suicide. I have been
digging all through my records to see if I could find it but I don't know
where I have put it. Unfortunately, I am one of those folks who does
several lines at the same time and I am not the best at filing things
where they shoudl be. I think I found the information at the Troy
library. If I can come across it, I will send it to you. It was
interesting to see more of the story of why he did it. If I recall
correctly, he killed himself because she was leaving him. Very sad. Send
