Martha Rushing 
Martha was born in 1861 in AL.1 Martha's father was Mathew M. (Mack) Rushing and her mother was Sarah Jane Amerson. Her paternal grandparents were William Cain Rushing and Mary Ann Rushing; her maternal grandparents were Wiley Bradford Amason and Eliza M. Smart. She had nine brothers and a sister, named Joseph Thomas, Thomas Jefferson, John MacDonald, William Henry, Mathew B., Newton, Theophilus, David, Perry D. and Elizabeth Jane. She was the third oldest of the eleven children.1 -
