Joe Roy was born on July 2nd, 1896 in TX.1 Joe Roy's father was Zebulon Thomas Rushing and his mother was Josephine Emily Yarberry. His paternal grandparents were Oliver Hazard Perry Rushing and Irene E. Weaver; his maternal grandparents were William Frank Yarberry and Nancy Ann Dodd. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Oliver Franklin, Charles Thomas, William Jackson, Oby Zeb, Arthur Louis, Guy Townsend, Exer Emily, Minneola, Elsja V., Estelle and Ethel Mary. He was the third youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 69 on January 13th, 1966 in Bryan, Brazos Co., TX.1 General Notes
