Martha Ann was born on December 18th, 1881 in AL.1 Martha Ann's father was Joseph Alexander Murphy and her mother was Tullelah Belle Adams. Her paternal grandparents were Mark Emanuel Murphy and Martha Ann Logan. She had two brothers and a sister, named Samuel Green, John Alexander and Tullelah Belle. She was the second oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Thomas Leroy, Mary D., Arsula and Clara Beatrice.
