Mahala Logan 
Mahala was born in 1823 in AL.1 Mahala's father was Henry Logan and her mother was Martha Ann George. Her paternal grandparents were David Logan and Hannah (?). She had three brothers and four sisters, named William, Ellis, Bloomfield, Mary Ann, Malinda, Marthabea E. and Elizabeth Ann. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Samuel Houston, Martha Missouri and Lou Annie. She died before 1880 in AL.1 General Notes

Mary Catherine is missing and Hugh is in Mississippi. The father,
Thomas Calhoun has failed to return from the war and presumed to have
been killed in action.
1880 US Census of Coosa County, Alabama, Rockford District, no longer
lists Mahala Shaw, so it is presumed she has died.

‌Mahala and Thomas Calhoun, Sr. were married in a religious ceremony on November 23rd, 1843 in Coosa Co., AL.1 They had four sons and four daughters, named Hugh, Thomas Calhoun, Jr., William James, Frank David, Elizabeth, Mary Catherine, M. Eliza and Amanda.
