Elmira Sophia was born on April 11th, 1831 in Autauga Co., AL.1 Elmira Sophia's father was Reuben Elmore Jordan and her mother was Julia Ann Spivey. Her paternal grandparents were Jonas Jordan and Elizabeth Elmore; her maternal grandparents were Aaron, Sr. Spivey and Charlotte Nixon. She had a brother and two sisters, named Reuben Elmore, Charlotte Pocohontas and Alabama Rebecca. She was the oldest of the four children. She had five half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Samuel W., John Archer, Andrew J., Thomas A., James Alfred, Elizabeth, Lucinda P., Elizabeth S., Sarah Ann, Frances and Mary Emily. She died at the age of 34 on October 3rd, 1865 in Coosa Co., AL. She was buried in Jordan Private Cemetery located near Kellyton, off Coosa County Rd 65 on the Five Star Plantation with Historical Ann Jordan Lodge; established circa 1836.1 1 -
