John Archer was born on March 24th, 1855 in AL.1 John Archer's father was William Mandon Alexander, Dr. Mitchell and his mother was Elmira Sophia Jordan. His maternal grandparents were Reuben Elmore Jordan and Julia Ann Spivey. He had two brothers named Reuben Alexander and Sidney Zollicoffer. He was the second oldest of the three children.
