John Archer Jordan 
John Archer was born on February 16th, 1809 in Laurens District, SC.1 John Archer's father was Reuben Elmore Jordan and his mother was Emily Dillard. His paternal grandparents were Jonas Jordan and Elizabeth Elmore; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Dillard and Anne Hutchings. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Samuel W., Andrew J., Thomas A., James Alfred, Elizabeth, Lucinda P., Elizabeth S., Sarah Ann, Frances and Mary Emily. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Reuben Elmore, Elmira Sophia, Charlotte Pocohontas and Alabama Rebecca. He died at the age of 72 in 1881 in Rusk, TX.1 -
