Sarah Elizabeth was born on October 17th, 1852 in Elba, Coffee County, Alabama.1 Sarah Elizabeth's father was John William Grimes and her mother was Julia Ann Garrett. Her paternal grandparents were John Grimes and Catharine Frederick; her maternal grandparents were Robert* Jackson, Sr. Garrett and Mary* Ann Clackler. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Robert Mason, James Shorter, Joshua English, John Franklin, William Bartley, Mary Catherine, Louisa A., Julia Evaline and Martha Fanny. She was the fourth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 85 on May 27th, 1938. She was buried in Cool Spring Cemetery, Opp, Alabama.1 1 -
