Martha Fanny was born in 1867.1 Martha Fanny's father was John William Grimes and her mother was Julia Ann Garrett. Her paternal grandparents were John Grimes and Catharine Frederick; her maternal grandparents were Robert* Jackson, Sr. Garrett and Mary* Ann Clackler. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Robert Mason, James Shorter, Joshua English, John Franklin, William Bartley, Mary Catherine, Louisa A., Sarah Elizabeth and Julia Evaline. She was the second youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 36 in 1903. She was buried in Holland-Grimes Cemetery, Elba, Coffee county, Alabama.1 1 -
