John was born about 1768 in NC.1 John's father was John Castellaw and his mother was Martha Sarah Butler. His paternal grandparents were James, Sr. Castellaw and Sarah Williams. He had two brothers and five sisters, named William, James C., Elizabeth, Prudence, Martha, Sarah and Penelope. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Bartholomew, John Dawson, Henry Dawson, John William, Thomas Jefferson, Charlotte, Nancy W. and Harriet. He died about 1840 in ?.1 -
