Bartholomew Castellaw 
Bartholomew was born about 1778 in Bertie Co., NC.1 Bartholomew's father was John Castellaw and his mother was Margaret Dawson. His paternal grandparents were James, Sr. Castellaw and Sarah Williams. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John Dawson, Henry Dawson, John William, Thomas Jefferson, Charlotte, Nancy W. and Harriet. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named William, John, James C., Elizabeth, Prudence, Martha, Sarah and Penelope. He died on May 2nd, 1845 in TN.1 General Notes

Bart was enumerated on the 1800 Federal Census of Bertie Co., NC; page 36.
Bart made a deed of trust to Hohn H. Cobb in February 1839, Haywood Co.,
TN. The deed was witnessed by Alfred and H. D. Castellaw (H-410).
