Sarah was born about 1773 in NC.1 Sarah's father was John Castellaw and her mother was Martha Sarah Butler. Her paternal grandparents were James, Sr. Castellaw and Sarah Williams. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William, John, James C., Elizabeth, Prudence, Martha and Penelope. She was the second youngest of the eight children. She had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Bartholomew, John Dawson, Henry Dawson, John William, Thomas Jefferson, Charlotte, Nancy W. and Harriet. She died in ?.1 -
