Henry Dawson was born in 1782 in Bertie Co., NC.1 Henry Dawson's father was John Castellaw and his mother was Margaret Dawson. His paternal grandparents were James, Sr. Castellaw and Sarah Williams. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Bartholomew, John Dawson, John William, Thomas Jefferson, Charlotte, Nancy W. and Harriet. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named William, John, James C., Elizabeth, Prudence, Martha, Sarah and Penelope. He died before 1850 in Lauderdale Co., TN.1 General Notes

Castellaw and John W. Castellaw sold to Starkey and Larry Castellaw 200
acres that Henry D. Castellaw had purchased from Henry Phelps in 1808.
