Asa was born in 1788 in Bertie Co., NC.1 Asa's father was John Castellaw and his mother was Penelope Mitchell. His paternal grandparents were John Castellaw and Martha Sarah Butler. He had a brother and two sisters, named Levi, Elizabeth and Nancy. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died after 1900 in ?.1 -
