Services conducted for Mrs. McEwen
Rockford, Ala. Jan 27 - Funeral services for Mrs. Alice McEwen, 85,
were held at Sears Chapel Methodist Church. The Rev. Harry Campbell and
the Rev. Howard Golden officiated.
Mrs. McEwen died in a Sylacauga hospital.
Member of a pioneer Coosa family, Mrs. McEwen was a longtime member
of Sears Chapel Methodist Church. Born at Wayside, Ala., in 1869, she
lacked a few days of reaching her 86th birthday.
Surviving are five sons, John S., Ben J. and Tom McEwen Rockford;
Frank W. McEwen, Birmingham, and George McEwen, Centre; four daughters,
Mrs. Tullie Hammond, Reform; Mrs. Fannie Croley, Mrs. Ann Darnell and
Mrs. Ida Radabaugh, all of Akron, Ohio; 25 grandchildren, 33
great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Allen, Dallas, Tex and two sisters,
Mrs. Beulah McCain, Montgomery, and Mrs. Belle Gothard, Sylacauga.
