Charles was born in 0953 in Laon,Champagne.1   Charles' father was King Louis IV (The Exiled) Carolingian Of France and his mother was Princess Gerberga De Saxony Of The Holy Roman Empire.  His paternal grandparents were King Charles III Carolingian Of France and Princess  Elgiva De Wessex Of Saxon England; his maternal grandparents were Emperor Henry I (The Fowler) De Saxony Of The Holy Roman Empire and Saint, Countess Matilda De Ringelheim. He had two brothers and two sisters, named The Pious, Lothair, Hildegarde and Matilda.  He was the youngest of the five children. He had three half-brothers named The Crooked, Martin and Meen.  He died in Kerker,Orlaeans,France;  captivity; imprisoned by Hugh Capet.1 


Charles' first family with Adelheid De Ardenne

‌Charles and Adelheid were married in a religious ceremony in 0969.1   They had a son and two daughters, named Charles, Adelaide and Gerberga.


Charles' second family with Countess Agnes Carolingian Of Vermandois

‌Charles and Agnes were married in a religious ceremony in 0979.  They had a son named Ludwig.


Charles' third family with Bona De Verdun

They had a daughter named Ermengarde (Adelaide).
