Charles II, known as The Bald, was born in Frankfurt on Maine,Germany.1   The Bald's father was Emperor Louis I (The Pious) Carolingian Of The Holy Roman Empire, King Of Aquitaine and his mother was Judith (The Fair) De Bavaria.  His paternal grandparents were Emperor Charlemagne Carolingian Of The Holy Roman Empire, King Of the Franks and Lady Hildegarde De Swabia; his maternal grandparents were Duke Guelph I De Alsace Of Bavaria and Hedwig De Saxony. He had a sister named Gisela. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Lothaire I, Pepin I, Louis II, Alpaid Elpheid, Rotrude, Hildegarde and Adelaide.  He died in Brides-les-Baines,near Mt. Cenis in the Alps.1 


The Bald's first family with Lady Ermentrude De Orleans

‌The Bald and Ermentrude were married in a religious ceremony in Crecy,France.  They had three sons and three daughters, named Louis II, Carloman, Charles, Judith, Hersent and Rothilde.


The Bald's second family with Richildis De Metz

They had a daughter named Rothilde.
