George Washington was born on February 21st, 1854 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.1   George Washington's father was Samuel D. Combest and his mother was Nancy Hammond.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel D. Combest and Sarah Dick; his maternal grandparents were John Hammond and Margaret Peggy Wilson. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named Aaron Wyatt, Samuel Dick, Wiltha Ann, Mary Jane, Elzira, Nancy, Margaret, Martha, Maranda and Sarah.  He was the second youngest of the eleven children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William Jasper, Joseph Newton, Martha Belle and Lucy Abigail.  He died at the age of 43 in July 1897 in Ingle, Western Pulaski County, Kentucky.1
