James Buchanan

James was born on October 13th, 1779 in Washington, Virginia.¹   James' father was John Buchanan and his mother was Jane Patterson.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Buchanan and Martha McNutt. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Samuel, William E, John, Matthew, Robert, Andrew, Alexander, Martha, Ann, Elizabeth and Nancy.  He was the third oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 69 on December 4th, 1848 in Washington, Arkansas.¹
