Drewry Walter Knight was born on June 12th, 1870 in Goochland Co., VA. Drewry Walter Knight's father was Nathaniel James Thurston and his mother was Ellen Jones Childress. His paternal grandparents were Reuben Thurston and Mildred B. Mahanes; his maternal grandparents were Dabney J. Childress and Mary A. Crutchfield. He had a brother and a sister, named Alonzo Coleman and Cora Lee. He was the youngest of the three children. He had four half-brothers and five half-sisters, named James Elisha, Reuben Hunter, John William, Moses Nathaniel, Emma Duke, Esther Lewis, Bettie Edloe, Ada Wash and Mary Turner. He died at the age of 95 on February 19th, 1966.-
