Joseph Morton was born on February 22nd, 1831 in Fluvanna Co., Virginia.1 Joseph Morton's father was George Loving Seay and his mother was Mary Brockenbrough Payne. His paternal grandparents were William E. Seay and Elizabeth Woody; his maternal grandparents were Richard Beckwith Payne and Judith Anderson. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Phillip G., Sidney M., Richard B., George P., Robert H., Georgie A., Judith Elizabeth, Emily Judson, Norella B. and Mary B.. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 84 on September 2nd, 1915 in Fluvanna Co., Virginia.-
