William Poindexter 
William was born about 1732 in Louisa Co., VA. William's father was John P. Poindexter and his mother was Christian Gossage. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Poindexter and Sarah Crawford; his maternal grandparents were Richard Gossage and Sarah Shelton. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Thomas, Richard, Elizabeth Ann, Sarah, Anne Gissage and Frances. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died on April 19th, 1808 in Louisa Co., VA.-
