John Poindexter 
John was born about 1728. John's father was John P. Poindexter and his mother was Christian Gossage. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Poindexter and Sarah Crawford; his maternal grandparents were Richard Gossage and Sarah Shelton. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, William, Richard, Elizabeth Ann, Sarah, Anne Gissage and Frances. He was the oldest of the eight children.-
