John Marshall 
John was born on January 17th, 1830 in "Carrington", Markham, Fauquier Co., VA. John's father was Edward Carrington Marshall and his mother was Rebecca Courtenay Peyton. His paternal grandparents were John Marshall and Mary Willis Ambler; his maternal grandparents were John Peyton and Mary Chiswell Lewis. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Edward Carrington, James Keith, Jaquelin Ambler, Mary Lewis, Rebecca Peyton, Betsy Lewis and Courtenay Norton. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 72 on November 27th, 1902 in "Bergen", Fauquier Co., VA.-
