Courtenay Norton was born on February 15th, 1847 in "Carrington", Markham, Fauquier Co., VA. Courtenay Norton's father was Edward Carrington Marshall and her mother was Rebecca Courtenay Peyton. Her paternal grandparents were John Marshall and Mary Willis Ambler; her maternal grandparents were John Peyton and Mary Chiswell Lewis. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Edward Carrington, James Keith, Jaquelin Ambler, Mary Lewis, Rebecca Peyton and Betsy Lewis. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 75 on September 10th, 1922 in "Innis", Fauquier Co., VA.-
