Eliza Clarkson was born on July 2nd, 1871 in "The Crag", Fauquier Co., VA. Eliza Clarkson's father was Jaquelin Ambler Marshall and her mother was Rebecca Peyton Marshall. Her paternal grandparents were Jaquelin Ambler Marshall and Eliza Letitia Steptoe Clarkson; her maternal grandparents were Edward Carrington Marshall and Rebecca Courtenay Peyton. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Jaquelin Ambler, Edward Carrington, William Clarkson, Yelverton Peyton, Marion Lewis, Randolph, Rebecca Peyton and Mildred Pickett. She was the third youngest of the nine children.-
