Edward Carrington was born on December 16th, 1860 in "The Crag", Fauquier Co., VA. Edward Carrington's father was Jaquelin Ambler Marshall and his mother was Rebecca Peyton Marshall. His paternal grandparents were Jaquelin Ambler Marshall and Eliza Letitia Steptoe Clarkson; his maternal grandparents were Edward Carrington Marshall and Rebecca Courtenay Peyton. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Jaquelin Ambler, William Clarkson, Yelverton Peyton, Marion Lewis, Randolph, Rebecca Peyton, Eliza Clarkson and Mildred Pickett. He was the third oldest of the nine children.-
