Horace Greely Goodman 
Horace Greely was born in August 1871 in Beaverdam, Hanover Co., Virginia. Horace Greely's father was Christopher Columbus Goodman and his mother was Ann Marie Harris. His paternal grandparents were Richard Goodman and Molly Beaughn; his maternal grandparents were William Harris and Susan Stanley. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John Franklin, Edgar Muriel, Samuel Buckner, Nina and Molly Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the six children. He had seven half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Callum Boyd, William Granville, Lexington, Charles Granerson, Richard Nicholas, Thomas Solomon, Herbert Harrington, Mary Jane, Margaret Perlina, Emma Lucy and Hanover Louisa.-
