Mary Walker was born in 1763. Mary Walker's father was Charles Carter and her mother was Mary Walker Carter. Her paternal grandparents were John Carter and Elizabeth Hill; her maternal grandparents were Charles Carter and Mary Walker. She had six brothers and a sister, named John Hill, Charles William, George, Charles, Landon, Edward and Elizabeth Hill. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She had eight half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Robert Hill, Robert Hill, Bernard, John, Bernard Moore, William, Butler, William Fitzhugh, Anne Hill, Catherine Spotswood, Mildred Walker, Lucy, ?, ? and Culphemea.-
