Manuel of was born about 1236 in Carrion, Spain.  Manuel of's father was III Ferdinand and his mother was Beatrice Elisabeth von Hohenstaufen.  His paternal grandparents were Alfonso IX Fernandez and Queen of Castile Berenguela; his maternal grandparents were Philip II von Hohenstaufen and Irene Angelica. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Alfonso X "El, Fadrique, Enrique, Felipe, Sancho, Fernando, Leonor, Berenquela and Maria. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Comte d'Aumale and Ponthieu, Luis of, Simon of, Juan of and Lady Eleanor of.  He died in December 1283 in Penafiel, Spain.


Manuel of's first family with Constança of Aragón

‌Manuel of and Constança of were married in a religious ceremony in 1263 in Soria, Spain.  They had a son and a daughter, named Alfonso Manuel and Violante.


Manuel of's second family with Beatrice de Savoy

They had two sons named Juan Manuel "el Scritor" and Sancho.
