Hugh le Despenser (2nd Lord) 
Hugh was born in 1308. Hugh's father was Hugh le “The Younger” Despenser (1st Lord) and his mother was Eleanor de Clare. His paternal grandparents were Hugh le “The Elder” Despenser (1st Earl of Winchester) and Isabella de Beauchamp; his maternal grandparents were Gilbert de Clare (7th Earl of Gloucester) and Joan Plantagenet (Joan of Acre). He had a brother and two sisters, named Edward, Isabel and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 41 in 1349.-
