Hugh le “The Younger” Despenser (1st Lord) 
Hugh, known as The Younger, was born in 1286. The Younger's father was Hugh le “The Elder” Despenser (1st Earl of Winchester) and his mother was Isabella de Beauchamp. His paternal grandparents were Hugh le Despenser (1st Baron) and Aline Basset; his maternal grandparents were William de Beauchamp (9th Earl of Warwick) and Maud FitzJohn. He had a brother named Phillip. He died at the age of 40 in 1326.General Notes
